Your mandate spans:

  • Identifying and evaluating new and orthogonal data sources
  • Shaping portfolio construction, risk sizing and capital allocation decisions
  • Bringing research into live trading, solving implementation challenges alongside quantitative developers
  • Owning the performance, monitoring and ongoing improvement of your live strategies
  • Driving adoption of agentic AI workflows to scale the team’s research
  • Mentoring junior researchers and interns

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of buy-side quantitative research experience, with a proven track record of alpha research that has generated profits in live trading
  • Deep expertise in probability, statistics, time-series analysis, or machine learning
  • Strong Python skills for conducting research
  • Experience with portfolio construction, risk management, or alternative data
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD from a top-tier university in a quantitative or technical field, such as math, physics, statistics, or computer science
  • Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across disciplines

Benefits

AXQ team members enjoy comprehensive benefits, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with 100% employer-paid premiums for individuals
  • 401(k) with employer matching up to 6%
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Health savings and flexible spending accounts
  • Generous paid time off
  • Regular office-provided meals and team events

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $300,000, depending on prior experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive total compensation package that includes base salary and an annual discretionary bonus.
